Arsenal defeated Keira 3-2 in their final match of the first stage of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season, thanks to goals from Dzekeresh, Havertz, and Martinelli. Swedish star Dzekeresh said the feeling of scoring was fantastic, but he still believes the Gunners could have performed even better.
Just two minutes into the match, Dzekeresh received a pass from Havertz and dribbled into the penalty area before firing a low shot into the net, giving Arsenal a dream start of 1-0. In the 4th minute, Calafiori fouled an opponent in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty for Keirat. Jorginho then converted the penalty, leveling the score at 1-1 for Keirat.
In the 15th minute, Ben White played a long pass, and Havertz received the ball, evaded the defense in the penalty area, and fired a shot into the net, giving Arsenal a 2-1 lead over Keira. In the 36th minute, Havertz received a through ball from Nelgaard and then crossed it, and the ball touched Dzekellysh before Martinelli slotted it home, extending Arsenal's lead to 3-1.
In stoppage time of the second half, Ricardinho scored, making the score 2-3 for Keira. Ultimately, Arsenal defeated Keira 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium, extending their winning streak to eight games.
Arsenal striker Stefan Dzekeresh said, "I think we played very well at the beginning of the game, except for conceding a penalty. We then scored some great goals and created many scoring opportunities. But I think we could have done better in the second half. Our rhythm and attack were not as good as in the first half, which is why we couldn't score again in the second half."
“It feels great to score and help the team, and I think we could have played better throughout the game, but I’m definitely happy to score. It’s fantastic that Havertz is back. Although he only played 45 minutes, he performed exceptionally well, and I think everything went very smoothly.”
So far this Champions League season, Dzekeresh has contributed 4 goals and 1 assist for Arsenal. Reflecting on this journey, Dzekeresh shared, "I think the away game against Inter Milan was great, and the home game against Atletico Madrid was also one of the most special games."
"Getting into the knockout stage is always exciting because it brings us closer to what we want to achieve in this tournament, and the next moment is going to be very exciting."
