Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, exclusively slammed rumour claiming that Liverpool and Newcastle United are currently in transfer battle for Sporting Clube de Portugal's Colombia international forward Luis Suárez through his paid column early Saturday morning in Italy.

In his column, Romano said that he received numerous private messages from fans asking about the rumour after a long day of work, just as he was about to go to bed. He responded that the rumour were utter nonsense.

He harshly criticized the claims, saying that neither he nor other journalists had ever heard that the two Premier League giants vying for the signing of Suárez, and they had never even sent scouts to monitor him.

Furthermore, the article's deliberate comparison of Suárez to the former Uruguay international striker of the same name, who is currently playing for Inter Miami, clearly revealed the author's intention to deliberately spread misinformation.

This fake news, posted on the morning of March 20th on ASTRO's official Facebook account, immediately sparked heated discussions among misled fans.

The article deliberately described Suárez's characteristics as those of the legendary Inter Miami player of the same name, claiming that both Liverpool and Newcastle had submitted £80 million offers for the player.

This fake rumour, after being widely reposted, caught further confusion that evening in Asia ater low-quality online media outlets such as TeamTalk, SportBIBLE, TalkSPORT, and Fichajes, as well as various Chinese content farm websites also reposted it.

However, it's worth mentioming that shortly after the fake news was published, many Malaysian fans in the original post's comments section had already slammed ASTRO for its despicable tactic of deliberately spreading the Portuguese Primeira Liga powerhouse player's fake rumours.
