Valencia CF officially announced that it has reached an agreement with Swiss club BSC Young Boys to sign Swiss national team midfielder Filip Uglinic. Born on January 5, 1999, the player has signed a four-year contract with the club, which runs until June 30, 2029. Filip Uglinic is a versatile midfielder with excellent transitional play, capable of both effectively intercepting attacks and creating threats deep into the opponent's penalty area.  

The 26-year-old has accumulated a wealth of experience, having played the majority of his career in the Swiss Super League and having participated in numerous top international competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. In the 2023-24 season, the new Valencia signing was recognized as a key player for the national team and was unanimously selected by teammates and opponents for the Team of the Season.  

Filip Uglinic came through the youth academy of Lucerne Football Club, where he played until 2022 before joining Young Boys of Suisse. During this time, he made 122 appearances, contributing 15 goals and 20 assists. He also enjoyed a distinguished career as a member of the Swiss national team, winning two Swiss Super League titles and the Swiss Cup.  

Following his arrival and signing at Valencia CF, the player spoke to the club's official media outlet, sharing his initial thoughts on this exciting transfer.  

Filip Ugrinic said: "I am very happy and honored to join this club. I am proud to be a member of the team and now look forward to working hard with everyone. In the next few days I will conduct individual training and then train with the team. Although I was surprised by this invitation, I am more positive about it. Considering the club's long history, enthusiastic fans and excellent stadium facilities, I made the decision without hesitation. I am very clear that I want to join here."

Facing the upcoming difficult season, Filip Uglinic said: "This will be a huge test, but as long as we stay positive and work hard, I believe the season will be full of highlights. I believe I have excellent physical fitness and all-round playing ability, and I am good at fighting and can mobilize emotions. I believe that our team's cooperation is very tacit."
