Fulham will host Manchester United on the second round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Marco Silva said in an interview that matches against Manchester United are always very close and that they must be careful to prepare for any possible situation.
In the first round of this season, Fulham was one goal behind and finally drew 1-1 with Brighton away from home after Rodrigo Muniz scored.
As for Manchester United, Amorim's team lost 0-1 to Arsenal in the first round and failed to get 3 points.
Fulham manager Marco Silva said: "It will be a tough game and we will face a great opponent. I know that last season's performance was not ideal for them. It was definitely below their standards and not in line with the size of the club, and they themselves are well aware of this."
"They already had a lot of good players last season, and they've kept almost all of their key players this season. So far, they've also invested a lot in the transfer market. They've brought in two players from the Premier League who played important roles in their previous teams and scored impressive goals. They've even signed a striker who's been a big draw."
Marco Silva said: "This game is very important for us, as well as for Manchester United. It will be another big test, but that's how the Premier League is. I think it's not because the opponent is Manchester United, or we are Fulham, but more because of the competition itself. This is the nature of the Premier League, so unpredictable."
"When you feel you can consistently get points, you have to be careful because things can go wrong at any time, and our game against Manchester United was a good example of that."
In addition, Marco Silva added, "Our last game against Brighton was also a good example, just like last season when we played against Brighton away, we lost the game on penalties in the last minute."
"It shows how close the game will be against Manchester United and how it will be decided in the details. It will always be a very competitive game against such a strong team."
