Hamburg announced on its official website on Friday that the club has extended the contract of its German-Libyan defender Daniel Elfadli.
According to Hamburg's official statement Hamburg, Elfadli has signed on new a three-year contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2028.
After completing his contract extension, Elfadli, who was interviewed by the Hamburg official website again, said: "I immediately felt a sense of belonging in this team and quickly developed an emotional connection with Hamburg."
"After achieving our goals and creating some unforgettable moments, this feeling became even more special."
"For me, that was just the beginning of my time wearing this jersey. Now, I absolutely want to be part of a new successful chapter in the Bundesliga, and I will continue to give my all."
About Daniel Elfadli
Elfadli, 28, was born on April 6, 1997, in Leonberg, Germany. He is 1.88 meters tall and primarily plays as a center back, but can also play as a defensive midfielder. He holds dual German and Libyan citizenship.
Elfadli joined the youth academy of his hometown club, Leonberg, at the age of 13. He joined the youth academy of non-league club Rutesheim in 2013 and completed his Rutesheim first-team debut in August 2017.
In July 2018, Elfadli joined Reutlingen on a free transfer.
In July 2020, Elfadli joined Nöttingen on a free transfer.
The following January, Elfadli joined Aalen on a free transfer, where his outstanding performances attracted interest from several 2. Bundesliga clubs.
In July 2022, Elfadli joined Magdeburg.
During his two-year spell with Magdeburg, Elfadli susprisingly helped the club reach the DFB-Pokal round of 16s once.
In July 2024, Elfadli moved to Hamburg for €70,000.
Last season, Elfadli played 32 times for Hamburg in all competitions, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists, helping the club to be promoted and return to the Bundesliga after 7 years.
