Nottingham Forest new signing Jair Cunha says he is eager to get on the field at the City Stadium and get a feel for English football after completing his move from Botafogo in Brazil.  

Botafogo withdrew from the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer, but Jair Cunha played well in the group stage as Brazil beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0, who eventually advanced to the final. Last week, the 20-year-old midfielder signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest and is about to start his English journey at the City Ground.  

In an interview, Jair Cunha said that he was extremely excited and grateful to join Nottingham Forest and start a new chapter in his career at the City Stadium. He said: "I feel great, really happy and grateful for this opportunity. I hope I can make an important contribution to the team and help everyone succeed together. This feeling is really hard to describe in words, I am so happy."  

"I am very much looking forward to playing at the City Stadium and making my debut. I believe I have been fully prepared during my time in Brazil and can contribute to the team in the best possible condition."

Jair Cunha's career trajectory is somewhat similar to that of Nottingham Forest's other defender, Murillo. The player wearing the No. 5 jersey joined Nottingham Forest at the age of 21 and has since established himself in NG2 and become a regular in the team's defense.  

Jair Cunha said: "Although I haven't had the opportunity to communicate in depth with other teammates, having Brazilian players in the team will definitely help me a lot. I believe this is very important for me to integrate into the team, and I am very happy to work with them to create glory for Nottingham Forest."

Jair Cunha has achieved significant success in his career, having won the South American Championship with the Brazil U20 national team and helping his former club advance to the round of 16 of this summer's FIFA Club World Cup.  

He continued: "It was a unique and valuable experience for me, it was fantastic. We in Brazil had the opportunity to play against the best teams in Europe, such as the current Champions League holders, and we managed to beat them. I think it was a fantastic game and it gave me valuable experience. So, I can say that when I arrived at Nottingham Forest and the Premier League, I was a more complete player."
