Juventus released a statement on Wednesday announcing the completion of the contract extension with Arkadiusz Milik. The new contract will extend the original agreement by one year and will be valid until June 30, 2027.
According to Juventus reporter Giovanni Albanese, after renewing his contract, Milik will spread the salary originally scheduled for the 2025/26 season over the next two seasons and give up part of his salary this season.
TMW has learned that Juventus has adjusted Milik's annual salary from 4.8 million euros before tax to 1.75 million euros. This move not only reduces the club's total salary, but also paves the way for Milik's potential transfer this summer.
The 31-year-old Milik was born in Tychy, Poland, and mainly plays as a center forward. He started his career in Katowice and then played for Shakhtar Zabrze, Bayer Leverkusen, Augsburg, Ajax and Marseille.
In August 2023, Milik joined Juventus on a lease-to-buy basis. So far, he has made 75 appearances for Juventus, scored 17 goals and provided 2 assists, and won the Italian Cup in the 2023/24 season with the team.
However, Milik's last appearance for Juventus dates back to May 25, 2024. He has been absent since undergoing surgery to remove the medial meniscus of his left knee last summer, and continued to rest due to calf and muscle problems at the beginning of this year.
According to German transfer data, Milik has missed 47 official games since June last year, and his market value has dropped from 6 million euros to the current 2 million euros. In 2019, his transfer value was as high as 40 million euros.
