French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain officially announced that central defender Presnel Kimpembe has officially joined Tal SC.
The news marks the end of a 20-year journey for the Parisian native at the Parc des Princes. Kimpembe joined the Paris Saint-Germain youth academy at the age of 10, growing up alongside players of his generation such as Ronald Koeman and Maignan.
In 2012, Kimpembe won the inaugural Trophy des Arcas with the youth team, and in 2014, he made his professional debut and won the French Super Cup with the team. Since then, he has gradually grown into the backbone of the PSG dressing room, playing a total of 241 games for the first team, with 219 starts.
In the ten years he wore the red and blue jersey, Kimpembe won three Ligue 1 titles and wore the captain's armband 30 times, symbolizing his loyalty and commitment to the club. However, frequent injuries hampered his career.
In the 2024-25 season, Kimpembe played in only five official matches, but he still witnessed Paris Saint-Germain's victory in Munich on May 31st. The photo of him and Marquinhos shedding tears on the field has become one of the most touching images in the club's history.
Now, the 32-year-old Presko has chosen to go to Qatar to continue his football career. Paris Saint-Germain wrote in a farewell statement: "His smile, determination and loyalty will be forever engraved in the history of the club. Thank you, Presko!"
