Monaco officially announced on Friday that Finnish international Lukasz Hradecki has joined from Bayer Leverkusen on a two-year contract with an option for a further year.
Hradecky's contract with Leverkusen was originally scheduled to expire in June next year. His transfer to Monaco will earn Leverkusen a base fee of 3 million euros, plus a floating bonus of up to 1 million euros.
Regarding Hradecky's departure, Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes explained: "After very friendly negotiations, we have agreed to release Lukasz Hradecky early. This is his personal wish - after a wonderful and fulfilling time at Leverkusen, he hopes to play in the Champions League as a starting goalkeeper again."
"Lukas has earned widespread respect at the club for both his professionalism and as a person, and has achieved achievements that will go down in the club's history. He will always be a part of Leverkusen."
It is also reported that Hradecky's annual salary at Monaco is 3 million euros after tax. He will wear the No. 1 jersey next season.
The 35-year-old Hradecki started his career at TPS Turku before moving on to Esbjerg, Brondby, and Eintracht Frankfurt. He won a Danish Cup with Esbjerg and the 2017/18 German Cup with Frankfurt.
Hradecki joined Leverkusen on a free transfer in July 2018. To date, he has made 286 appearances for Leverkusen, keeping 86 clean sheets and winning the Bundesliga, German Cup, and German Super Cup with the team.
Hradecki has also performed well at the national team level. Since making his debut in May 2010, he has won 101 appearances for Finland and was part of the team at the 2021 European Championship.
