Al-Hilal announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has signed young French goalkeeper Mathieu Patouillet from Lyon.
According to the Saudi Pro League giants' official statement, Patouillet has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the summer of 2027. He will also wear the number 25 jersey.
The club paid the Ligue 1 powerhouse a transfer fee of €342,000 to sign Patouillet.
About Mathieu Patouillet
Matthieu Patouillet, 21, was born in Lyon, France on February 20, 2004. He is 1.88 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.
Patouillet played for the youth academy of several non-league clubs as a child. He joined Lyon's youth academy in 2019, where he won the Coupe Gambardella (French U18s Youth Cup) with the club.
In the summer of 2023, immediately after being promoted to the Lyon first-team, Patouillet was loaned-out to Sochaux for two years.
During his two-year loan spell at Sochaux, Patouillet made 65 appearances for the Championnat National club in all competitions, conceding 70 goals and keeping 22 clean sheets. During which he haso helped the club surpisingly reach the Coupe de France Round of 16s once.
