Kyle Walker-Peters wore a bright smile throughout after opening the scoring for West Ham United, helping his team secure a 3-2 home victory over Burnley in the Premier League. Late in the game, manager Nuno Espirito Santo brought Walker-Peters on as a substitute, playing him in the unfamiliar position of left winger.  

The player displayed excellent attacking instincts during the match, immediately seizing the rebound to score when Tomas Soucek's initial shot was saved by Burnley goalkeeper Martin Dubravka. This was his eighth goal in his 240th career appearance at the age of 28, and also the decisive goal for Kyle Walker-Peters' new club, which he joined this summer, to secure a crucial victory.  

Kyle Walker-Peters said: “I saw Tom swing his leg and decided to take the risk. Sure enough, I got to the ball before Jarrod Bowen could. I’ve apologized to Bowen because I understand how important this goal was for him, but I’m happy to have scored my first goal for West Ham.”  

Furthermore, Kyle Walker-Peters praised West Ham United's tenacious fighting spirit. They have come back from a goal down in two consecutive Premier League matches, a feat they had never accomplished in their previous 48 top-flight games.  

He continued, "I think this reflects the team's spirit, everyone working together. As I said before, look at Tom, look at me, we both crave starting positions, but haven't been able to yet. However, when we have the opportunity to play, we will do our best to influence the course of the game."  

“Tom achieved his goal for two consecutive weeks, and I did this week as well, which demonstrates the strong cohesion within the team. Given our current situation, this victory is crucial, a key ‘six-pointer.’ We’ve been discussing the importance of this game all week, especially before the international break, and I’m glad we’re in good form going into the international break. Next week, we will focus on training and be fully prepared for the next game.”  

Kyle Walker-Peters concluded by praising head coach Nuno Espirito Santo's leadership, saying he inspired the team and implemented a new approach that emphasized both individual and collective responsibility. He stated, "The coach has always emphasized unity. One of the core ideas he conveyed was bringing us together as a whole, as a team, and I think we've really put a lot of effort into that."  

"As I said, our team is very united off the field. Every member maintains open communication, which I think is an atmosphere that the head coach is trying to create. Players can question each other, which is very beneficial. I think the team sometimes needs this kind of atmosphere, where everyone is open to suggestions and listens carefully. So far, it's working well, and I hope this momentum can continue."
