Brentford officially confirmed that 19-year-old England left-back Jayden Meghoma will join Scottish Premier League giants Glasgow Rangers on loan for one season, until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Megoma joined Brentford from Southampton last summer on a four-year contract with an option for a two-year extension. As a young talent, he has made four appearances for Brentford, including a substitute appearance against Chelsea in the Premier League, and three League Cup appearances.

In January of last year, Megoma was loaned to Championship club Preston North End. He played 12 times and provided one assist in half a season, showing positive results. At the national team level, Megoma has played for England up to the U19 level. In March of this year, he was part of the team that won the Pinatar Super Cup in Spain and was selected for the U19 European Championship squad this summer.

Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, said: "Jaden has shown positive form in pre-season. Given the fierce competition for the full-back position, we believe a loan move is the best option for him to continue his development. Rangers is a big club with the ability to compete for trophies and compete in European competitions, and this will provide him with high-pressure and valuable training opportunities."

At Rangers, Megoma will work again with Russell Martin, his former head coach at Southampton, and the team hopes his addition will energize the squad and provide more room for young players to grow.
