Laurent Assignon will join Stuttgart from French Ligue 1 side Rennes before the start of the new season and sign a long-term contract with the club that is valid until 2029.  

The defender becomes the first new signing for the Bundesliga team in the 2025-26 season. Under the guidance of Anthony Rouault, Lolaurenz Assignon previously learned about Bundesliga matches on TV and has now started learning German to prepare for integration into the new environment.
