Liam Delap says he and his team-mates have done the job to reach the knockout stages of the Club World Cup, and the striker will hope his goal against Tunisia is the first of many more goals for Chelsea.  

Tosin Adarabioyo broke the deadlock with a header in first-half injury time, and Liam Delap then made a brilliant turn and assist to score himself, successfully extending the lead.  

Late in the game, Tyrick George scored the game-sealing goal in the final moments at Lincoln Financial Field to cap off the victory.  

Liam Delap is well aware of the importance of this game to Chelsea. This victory ensures that the team successfully advances to the last 16 of the Club World Cup, and the next opponent will be Benfica. As the team's new No. 9, Liam Delap is also happy to achieve the results that the team and fans expect in Philadelphia.  

After the game, Liam Delap said: "We knew that only winning would guarantee promotion, so we are very happy to have achieved this goal. It feels great to score a goal and I hope this is just the beginning of many goals for the team in the future. I love this game and I am proud to represent such a good team."  

The 22-year-old also singled out Enzo Fernandes for his crucial assist on his first goal for Chelsea.  

Liam Delap continued: "I spoke to Enzo Fernandes before the game and he told me that whenever he had the ball I should make a run forward. It was a great pass and luckily I got it into the net."  

Chelsea will have three days to recover and adjust before facing Benfica, and Liam Delap is ready to face the Portuguese giants.  

Liam Delap added: “In the next few days we need to focus on our preparations. The whole team will give it our all and hopefully we can go on to achieve more.”
