Lille announced on their official website on Tuesday that they have extended the contract of its Icelandic international attacking midfielder Hákon Haraldsson.

According to Lille's official statement, Haraldsson has signed on a new long-term four-and-a-half-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030.

About Hákon Haraldsson

The 22-year-old Haraldsson was born on April 10, 2003, in Akranes, Iceland. Standing at 1.80 meters tall, he primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also play as a left and right winger.

Haraldsson comes from a footballing family; even his mother, Jónína Víglundsdóttir, is a former Icelandic women's international player.

Haraldsson joined the youth academy of ÍA, the former club of his father, former Icelandic international midfielder Haraldur Ingólfsson, at a young age. He joined København's youth academy in 2019 and completed his København first-team debut in a Champions League qualifier in July 2021.

During his two years at København, Haraldsson won the Danish Superliga title twice and the Danish Cup once.

In July 2023, Haraldsson joined Lille for €12 million.

Since becoming a member of Les Dogues, Haraldsson has made 102 appearances for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 16 assists. During which he has helped the club reach the Round of 16s in the Coupe de France twice, once in the Champions League, and the quarter-finals once in the UEFA Conference League.
