Luka Dončić, 26, has signed a three-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers, and the star said the team has what it takes to compete for the championship and will continue to fight for it.
In February of this year, Luka Doncic was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Los Angeles Lakers and played 28 games for the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2024/25 NBA regular season, averaging 28.2 points per game, 43.8% shooting and 37.9% three-point shooting.
Luka Doncic said in an interview, “We have everything we need to compete for the championship. I will do my best to win every game no matter what the situation is. Our team has some great new faces, so we will do our best to hit the championship.”
"It's an honor to be a Laker, and I just want to be here. When I look at this place and see all the great names and what they've accomplished, I hope to be one of them one day."
In addition, Luka Dončić has been working hard to exercise this summer, and his physical condition has become more ideal.
Luka Doncic also shared, “I didn’t play basketball at all for the first month. We focused more on other aspects of training. I think this is the starting point of the transformation. The first five days were particularly difficult. I really didn’t know what to do without basketball.”
"But then I slowly got used to it. I also did some weightlifting and balance exercises, and then I started playing again a month later."
