According to multiple media reports, Manchester United has reached a verbal agreement with Trabzonspor on the loan of Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana. However, whether the deal can be completed depends on whether the player agrees.

If all goes well, Onana will play for Trabzonspor for one season. The loan should not involve any fees and there is no buyout clause in the contract.

The 29-year-old Onana, a graduate of the La Masia youth academy, made his first-team debut for Ajax on August 20, 2016. He was a key member of Erik ten Hag's team as they won three Eredivisie titles, two Dutch Cups, and one Dutch Super Cup. He joined Inter Milan in 2022 and played a significant role in their Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana wins that season.

In July 2023, Onana joined Manchester United for £47.2 million, introduced by Erik Ten Hag. His performances were inconsistent over his two seasons at the club, with only 24 clean sheets in 104 appearances. Despite this, Onana still won the 2024 FA Cup.

With Manchester United signing Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Sené Ramens this summer, Onana's tactical position under manager Ruben Amorim has been challenged. Manchester United is unhappy with his injury situation and contract demands and has allowed him to seek new opportunities.

Now, Onana is considering joining Trabzonspor. The Turkish Super League transfer window will close on September 12, and Trabzonspor hopes that Onana can make his debut in the match against Fenerbahce on September 14.
