Mateus Cunha admitted that joining Manchester United was his dream. In order to realize this dream, he declined the invitations of many clubs. In the past two seasons of the Premier League, he scored 29 goals and attracted the attention of many top clubs including Manchester United with his outstanding performance.  

The signing of Mateus Cunha may come as a surprise to some rivals fans, given the team's ups and downs in the 2024-25 season, but Mateus Cunha admits that joining Manchester United has always been his dream, which made his decision firm and easy.  

Mateus Cunha said: "This is really a dream come true for me because I have always wanted to join Manchester United. Maybe the outside world can't fully understand my choice, but when you have always dreamed of playing here, the decision will become easier."

"This club is something that is very much in my heart. As a kid I played football with him in the streets, on the beach and on the gravel pitches we all called 'Old Trafford'. Can you imagine!"
