Metz announced on their official website on Friday that they have signed DR Congo U21s international forward Nathan Mbala to his first professional contract.

According to Metz's official statement, Mbala has signed on a new three-year contract which which runs until the summer of 2029.

In his first interview with Metz's official website after completing the signing, Mbala said: "I am very happy to sign my first professional contract. It's a dream come true, especially to continue playing for the club I've supported since childhood. I have great respect for this shirt and Metz; they have made me who I am today."

About Nathan Mbala

The 18-year-old Mbala was born on February 19, 2008, in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is 1.79 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger, right winger, or attacking midfielder. He holds dual Congolese and French citizenship. His father, Biscot, is a former DR Congo international striker.

Mbala played in the youth academy of his father's former club, Forbach, during his childhood. He joined Metz's youth academy in 2020 and completed his Metz first-team debut in a Coupe de France match in December 2025.

Since his debut, Mbala has made 8 appearances for the Ligue 1 club in all competitions, scoring 2 goals.
