NBA rescinds Edwards' technical foul

After reviewing Edwards' technical foul, the NBA announced on Saturday that it would cancel the technical foul he received in the Timberwolves' 117-91 win over the Nets. Originally, since this technical foul was his 18th this season, he would automatically be suspended for one game and miss the regular season finale against the Jazz on Sunday.
"I was just trying to play good defense, they called a foul on me, and then the referee gave me a technical foul." Edwards said after the game when talking about the situation at the time, "I don't think I should get a technical foul, it was just a small action. But I have a good relationship with the referee Ray (Acosta), and I also communicated after the game. I think this technical foul is a bit unnecessary."
Edwards, 23, was forced to suspend for his 16th technical foul at the end of February, and the league has been paying close attention to his emotional management on the court.
This season, Edwards is still the Timberwolves' most stable offensive core, averaging 27.4 points per game (the highest on the team), 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He has played in 78 games, all as a starter.
As the regular season enters its final match day, competition in the Western Conference is heating up. The Timberwolves are currently ranked seventh (49 wins and 32 losses), in the same “32 to 34 losses” range as the Nuggets, Clippers, Warriors, and Grizzlies, and are extremely close in ranking.
