Niklas Fellkrug expressed his confidence that the team's pre-season training efforts were beginning to bear fruit. He scored the crucial winning goal in West Ham United's Premier League summer series victory against Everton. The German international, one of seven substitutions at halftime, netted the winning goal in less than 20 minutes with the score at 1-1.  

It was a spectacular left-footed shot, enough to decide the game, but Niklas Fellkrug wasn't obsessed with individual performances, but rather the team chemistry that created the chances. He was encouraged by the team cohesion that had been fostered over the summer. He was confident that the positive atmosphere in training camp and the hard work on the field would put the team in a strong position for the 2025-26 season.  

Niklas Fellkrug said: "The atmosphere in the team is very harmonious at the moment, full of warmth and love. We all get along well and spend a lot of time together."

Whether in London, Germany or now in the United States, we have all thoroughly enjoyed our time together and are beginning to feel the positive impact of our efforts.”  

"I feel we have made a lot of progress on the court, but there are still many areas that need improvement. Everything is not perfect yet, and we have to be patient. But I believe that our efforts are slowly bearing fruit."  

"It was a great feeling to score, but the most important thing for me at that moment wasn't the goal itself. It was more about the team's dedication to the second chance. We had three players fighting for that difficult ball, and everyone was working hard to win it back. I think that attitude was crucial, and of course, I'm very happy to have scored."  

For his part, Niklas Fellkrug is delighted to be back to his best after a frustrating and injury-plagued debut season in east London, which limited him to just 20 appearances.  

With just one game remaining in the summer series, the 32-year-old will be hoping to take a positive step forward against Bournemouth as West Ham remain in contention for the title.  

Niklas Fellkrug said: "I believe in the power of energy. If you carry positive energy, whether as a team member, a player or an individual, good things will happen. This is why I always keep smiling and try my best to pass on positive energy to those around me. I don't do it deliberately, but because I really believe that positive energy will bring positive returns, and positive things will naturally come."

Everton’s defence was very tight but we managed to overcome their challenge. We are all looking forward to the next game and hopefully getting another win and, of course, we are ready for the return of the Premier League.”
