Newcastle United officially completes club-record signing of Stuttgart center forward Nick Woltemade..


Newcastle United announced on their official website on Saturday that they have officially signed Germany international center forward Nick Woltemade from Stuttgart.


According to Newcastle United's official statement, Woltemade has signed on a long-term five-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2030. He will also wear the number 27 jersey, which was vacated following Freddie Woodman's departure.


According to a recent report by Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the new Premier League giants paid Stuttgart an initial fee of €75 million to sign Woltemade, not including an additional €10 million in potential add-ons, bringing the potential total transfer fee to €85 million.


This fee surpasses the previous record of €60 million paid by the Magpies to sign Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad, becoming Newcastle United's highest transfer fee in history.


After completing his joining  procedures, Woltemade, whwas interviewed by the Newcastle United official website for the first time, said: "Leaving Germany was a big step in my life, but everyone welcomed me so warmly and it felt like family. After speaking with the manager, I feel this is the right place for me to reach my best level."


"I've seen this stadium on TV; it looks fantastic, and I know the atmosphere is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to playing here and starting to score goals."


About Nick Woltemade


Woltemade, 23, was born on February 14, 2002, in Bremen, Germany. He is 1.98 meters tall and primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as an attacking midfielder. His father, Tim, is a midfielder who previously played for a local non-league clubs in Bremen.


Woltemade played for the youth academy of his father's former club, Woltmershausen as a child. He joined Werder Bremen's youth academy in 2010 and cas a completed his Werder Bremen first-team debut by starting in a match in February 2020. At just 17 years, 11 months, and 16 days old, he broke the record and became the youngest player in Werder Bremen's history.


In August 2022, Woltemade was loaned-out to Elversberg. During his time there, he helped the team complete the 3. Liga and Saarland Cup double, and was named 3. Liga Player of the Year and won the Golden Boot.


Upon returning from his loan the following summer, Woltemade officially became a key player in Werder Bremen's first-team.


After leaving the club at the end of his contract in July 2024, Woltemade joined Stuttgart on a free transfer.


Last season, Woltemade made 36 appearances for the Bundesliga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists, as well as winning the DFB-Pokal with the club.
