The Milwaukee Bucks officially announced on Sunday that they have re-signed Greek forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who missed last season due to a torn Achilles tendon. According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the two sides signed a one-year contract worth $2.9 million.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo's return also means he will continue to play alongside his brother, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Thanasis, 33, was the 51st pick in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft, but his playing time with the New York Knicks has been limited.

Since joining the Bucks in July 2019, Thanasis has appeared in 196 regular season games, averaging 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game. He also played in 25 playoff games for the Bucks and won the 2021 NBA championship with the team.

It is reported that Thanasis is currently competing with the Greek national team in the 2025 Basketball European Cup. It is generally believed that his contract extension means that Giannis Antetokounmpo is more likely to stay with the team in the short term.
