Newly promoted Premier League side Burnley announced on Wednesday that they have signed a new contract with French defender Maxime Esteve. The new contract extends the existing contract by one year, expiring on June 30, 2030.

"I am delighted to have renewed my contract," Maxime Esteve said in a statement. "This club means a lot to me."

The 23-year-old Esteve came from Montpellier's youth training and made his first-team debut in the first round of Ligue 1 on August 8, 2021. He then played 62 times for Montpellier, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist.

In February 2024, Esteve joined Burnley on a loan-to-buy basis. To date, he has made 64 appearances for Burnley, including 16 Premier League games and 46 Championship games.
