Official: Crystal Palace extends contract with 29-year-old midfielder Will Hughes until 2027

Crystal Palace released a statement on Tuesday announcing that Will Hughes has completed a contract extension. His contract will be extended for another two years, valid until June 30, 2027.
Will Hughes, 29, mainly plays as a central midfielder, but can also play as a right midfielder, defensive midfielder, left midfielder, etc. He made his professional debut on November 5, 2011 for the Championship team Derby County, and then played for Watford from 2017 to 2021.
In August 2021, Hughes moved from Watford to Crystal Palace for 7 million euros. So far, he has played 115 times for Crystal Palace, scored 2 goals and provided 9 assists.
In a statement, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish praised Hughes. He said: "Weir is not only an important player for our team, but also embodies the hard work, humility and humor that the club advocates. He is a leader both on and off the court, and has won the unanimous recognition of his teammates and fans. I am very happy that he can continue to wear the red and blue jersey."
