NBC Sports announced Tuesday that NBA legend and Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady will join the network's NBA broadcast team for the 2025-26 season, sharing commentary duties with Maria Taylor, Ahmed Faried, Carmelo Anthony and his cousin and former teammate Vince Carter.

Regarding this appointment, McGrady said: "As the NBA returns to NBC Sports, the network where countless classic basketball memories were created, I am humbled and grateful to join the channel. Basketball has given me everything, and I will always give back to the game with the same passion. I hope to pass on the passion, insight and love that has driven me since I was a child to all the viewers who watch the game on NBC and Peacock. I am excited to work with so many people I admire."

McGrady, 46, is widely considered one of the most gifted scorers in NBA history. He played for the Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, and San Antonio Spurs, among other NBA teams. Over 16 years, he played in 978 regular-season games, averaging 19.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. He was selected to seven All-Star Games and twice won the scoring title.

McGrady also played in 50 playoff games, averaging 22.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game.

McGrady officially announced his retirement in August 2013. He has been a basketball commentator for ESPN since 2016 and has participated in TNT broadcasts as a special guest on many occasions.
