Scottish Premiership giants Celtic officially announced on Wednesday the appointment of Wilfrid Nancy as their first-team manager. The two sides signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, valid until the summer of 2028.

Nancy, 48, is from France and began her coaching career in Montreal in March 2021. During her tenure, she led Montreal to a record of 38 wins, 16 draws, and 25 losses, ultimately winning the Canadian Soccer Championship.

In June 2022, Nancy officially took over as head coach of Columbus Crew. To date, he has led the team to 71 wins, 32 draws, and 33 losses, and has won the MLS Cup and the North American League Cup.

Regarding Nancy's arrival, Celtic chairman Peter Lowell commented: "We are delighted to welcome Wilfried to Celtic. He is a highly successful manager whose coaching style aligns with the football philosophy beloved by Celtic fans. We will fully support Wilfried and strive to bring victory to the fans once again."

Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson added: "We were already familiar with Wilfrid and his abilities – he was our top choice after we started the search for a new manager. We are delighted that he has agreed to join the club."
