Al-Hilal has officially announced the contract extension of goalkeeper Yassine Bounou. The new contract will extend his contract by two years, from its original expiration date of 2026, to June 30, 2028.

After signing the new contract, Bounou said in a video: "I am very happy to renew my contract with the club. God bless me, I will do my best to make the fans proud of us. Long live the Crescent of Riyadh."

The 34-year-old Bono, a graduate of Vidad Casablanca's youth academy, made his professional debut for the first team in the 2011 FIFA Champions League final on November 12, 2011. He subsequently played for Atlético Madrid, Real Zaragoza, Girona, and other teams before joining Serbia in 2019 on a loan-to-buy deal.

In his four seasons with Serbia, Bunu kept 58 clean sheets in 142 matches across all competitions and won two Europa League titles as a key player.

In August 2023, Bounou joined Al-Qassim for a transfer fee of €21 million. To date, he has made 99 appearances for Al-Qassim, keeping 94 clean sheets and helping the team win one Saudi Premier League title, one Saudi Cup, and two Saudi Super Cup titles.

As for the national team, Bounou has played 78 times for Morocco, including two World Cups (2018 and 2022) and four Africa Cup of Nations (2017, 2019, 2022, and 2024). He has kept 49 clean sheets, with his best achievement being reaching the 2022 World Cup semi-finals.
