RB Leipzig will face defending champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the opening match of the new Bundesliga season. Leipzig coach Ole Werner stated that even against a strong Bayern Munich, his team must remain confident in posing a threat and believe that every match will yield rewards for his team.

In the Bundesliga last season, Leipzig could only finish 7th after a difficult challenge, and therefore missed the opportunity to participate in European competitions in the new season. The 37-year-old Ole Werner became Leipzig's new head coach in June this year.

Ole Werner said in an interview, "We watched all of Bayern Munich's recent games, including the German Super Cup against Stuttgart. Overall, they played very skillfully and continued their style from last season, both in possession and without the ball, without any major changes. Their level of play not only helped them win the Bundesliga title last season, but also made them one of the top teams in Europe. Judging from their current performance, it only proves that we will face an extremely difficult challenge."

"Our playing style is diverse and we must be prepared for different situations that may arise during the game. Any team that plays against Bayern Munich needs to defend well and expect to be under a lot of pressure in the back line, sometimes even having to defend deeper than against other opponents."

Ole Werner also stressed, “We want to press high as much as possible and try to win the ball back in the frontcourt, but the key is to find the right moment. Most importantly, we want to get a good performance and have the confidence to try. This will not only give us a chance to breathe from the pressure, but also create other opportunities and show the opponent that we are capable of creating threats. These are key factors.”

Talking about the challenges of the new season, Ole Werner shared, "I'm excited for the new season. We've laid a solid foundation in pre-season. It's very special to be able to start the new season in Munich, and in the opening game as well."

Some say this is the hardest game of the season, others say it's the easiest. I think it's best not to think too much about it and just focus on ourselves and try to give our best performance."

Ole Werner also said, "The most important thing is to show unity and support each other on the court. From what I have seen, I believe the team will do this. Every game has the possibility of gaining something, and this is also our mentality facing tomorrow's game."
