Simon Rask has confirmed Paul Onuachu will return to action against Leicester this weekend after missing Southampton’s last Premier League game through injury.
In Southampton's match against Fulham, Ross Stewart played as the core of the striker in the absence of Paul Onuachu. This was his first home start since joining Southampton in September 2023. He played 66 minutes and was not injured.
Currently, interim head coach Simon Rask faces a decision on whether to start Paul Onuachu against Leicester City.
Simon Rask said: "We are in very good physical condition. Paul Onuachu has been training in recent days and he has fully recovered and can participate in the game. This is positive news. The overall training situation this week has been very good, so our players are in very good physical condition."
Simon Rask was also asked about Adam Lallana , who has been helping the team both technically and on the training pitch. However, Adam Lallana is still under contract with only four games remaining in the season.
Simon Rask said: "In terms of Adam Lallana 's performance, the final decision is entirely in his hands. In order to prepare for this game, Adam Lallana will definitely join the coaching staff, and the schedule for this weekend's games will remain in a similar format."
