Real Madrid will soon face Levante at the Valencia Ciudad Stadium. Coach Xabi Alonso attended a press conference, emphasizing the difficulty of the away challenge and hoping that the team can continue its perfect start.
At the pre-match press conference, Alonso said: "Any away game is difficult. Levante played well, not only because of their victory in Girona, but also against Betis and in the first round against Barcelona."
"They have a very competitive coach in Calero. We have to be good in many areas tomorrow, play quality, keep the tempo, stay focused and be ready to fight throughout the match."
Regarding the team's current state, Alonso admitted that Real Madrid is on the right track, but still needs to improve. He said: "We are making progress. We are still building the foundation and the pillars. We showed a solid performance in the last game. We can still improve, but this shows that the direction is right."
"Having only played six games so far is nothing. We have to be more ambitious and hungry. We have to fight for a lot of points this year and to do that we have to win more games."
Real Madrid remains unbeaten through five La Liga matches this season. Alonso emphasized the need to maintain both confidence and realism: "We must keep moving forward. Results bring confidence, but the key is overall team performance, benefiting all players. This will be a crucial factor this season."
“We dominated possession the other day but had some difficulties creating chances in the final third. We’ve discussed that and tried to correct it. Levante pressed hard and their forwards and wingers were in good form, so we have to be ready for all phases of the game.”
