Petar Sučić and Jan Sommer shared some thoughts after Inter Milan's 2-0 win over River Plate.  

Petar Sučić only played for 28 minutes before he proved his worth with a key pass. The Croatian midfielder played well in Inter Milan's match against River Plate, and it was his precise assist that helped Francesco Pio Esposito break the deadlock and open the door to victory for Inter Milan.  

“I’m really happy,” said Petar Sučić. “It was just one of my first games at Inter and I tried my best to perform. It was a very difficult game but for the opener I saw my chance, took advantage of the space and then assisted Pio to score.”  

“Of course, as a new player, I am still adapting. I am still understanding the rhythm of the team and getting familiar with the way my teammates play. This takes time. This is only my third appearance for the team, but I am satisfied with my growth trajectory.”  

Jan Sommer said: "This was our toughest and most exciting game so far in this tournament. The opponent was strong and very threatening in attack. But we played well and created many chances. It was a very solid team performance."  

"Our young players performed very well and they gain experience and confidence in games like this, which is very important for their growth."  

“Although the preparations in the past few days were not easy, we always stayed focused and the whole team was 100% committed to the game today. I am very satisfied with the team's performance, especially the two wonderful goals. Participating in a tournament like this, we are of course eager to win every game. But we also know that we have to do it step by step. Next we will face an opponent we are not familiar with, and we need to show the same outstanding performance.”
