Despite Wolves' final pre-season match against his former club Celta Vigo, Fil Lopez was in high spirits as he stepped onto the pitch at Molineux for the first time. The striker, who has been with his boyhood club since the age of nine, admitted that playing against his former teammates was quite unusual, having only joined Wolves last month.  

Despite Wolves' victory at Molineux, Phil Lopez remains confident the team can have a successful season. With just a week left until the Premier League season begins, the team is preparing vigorously.  

Phil Lopez said: "I am very excited for the new season to begin. I am very grateful to the fans who came out to support us and play in this great stadium. Even though this is just a pre-season friendly, the stadium was almost full, which is an honor for me."  

“I sincerely thank them for the warm welcome they have given me. I am very happy to have made my debut here and I hope to have more opportunities like this in the future.”  

Regarding playing in front of the fans at his new stadium, he said: "It's really great. We can really feel the support of the fans in every action, whether it's a tackle or a dribble, all the little things are exciting. I am sure they will give us great support throughout the season."  

Phil Lopez spoke about reuniting with his former teammates: "It's really nice to see them again. I went to the hotel to talk to them yesterday, and then I will go to the locker room to hand over our jerseys and other items to them. It's great to see them and I hope we can play side by side in Europe next season."  

"It felt special because Celta Vigo is obviously my club and has always been my club in my career. But I think as a professional footballer you have to put that emotion aside and I enjoyed the game itself."  

“I also know many of my old team-mates very well and they are all doing very well. I am very happy to play against my first club and make my debut at Molineux. But at the moment, all my focus is on the upcoming game against Manchester City.”  

"In the end, I think we were well prepared and the coach followed the training plan strictly. I am very grateful to him and the opportunity he gave me and I believe we will have a great performance this season."
