On August 29 , in the first match of Group D of the 2025 European Championship held in Katowice, Poland, the French team opened fire and easily defeated Belgium 92-64, demonstrating its strong overall strength.

France trailed for only the first 25 seconds, but quickly took control. Entering the second quarter, young forward Zachary Lisache's slam dunk ignited the team, keeping the scoreline above double digits.

France delivered a well-balanced performance, with all 12 players scoring, four in double figures, and a smooth transition between offense and defense. Bilal Coulibaly was particularly impressive, contributing on both ends of the floor, finishing with 12 points and 6 rebounds, and even blocking Belgian center Ismael Bako repeatedly. His all-around performance earned him Player of the Game honors.

In terms of statistics, although France's outside shooting was average, they relied on their excellent penetration and inside attack to lead their opponents by 38 to 20, completely suppressing Belgium in the paint.
