Rob Edwards believes that despite Wolves' away defeat to Manchester City, their second-half performance showed that the team has not lost its recent momentum. At the Etihad Stadium, Wolves trailed 0-2 at halftime, but after the manager made substitutions, bringing on Rodrigo Gomez and Jürgen Strand Larsen, the team turned the tide of the game, although they ultimately failed to change the score.  

Wolves fought tooth and nail until the final whistle, hitting the crossbar multiple times and causing their opponents considerable trouble, but ultimately failed to change the score or extend their unbeaten run. Nevertheless, the team's effort has filled manager Rob Edwards with confidence for the future.  

After the match, Rob Edwards said, "I think we controlled the tempo of the game for most of the match, and even when the opponent had possession, we couldn't completely control the situation. Overall, we effectively kept the ball outside the penalty area, reducing their chances, and even when we didn't have the ball at our feet, we still felt like we had the initiative in the game. As the second half progressed, we gradually intensified our attack, became more proactive, and tried more open attacking methods."  

“Even though we lost the game, I firmly believe the team can learn a lot from it. People may think it was an easy victory for Manchester City, and I understand that view, but I didn’t think it was an easy game. Overall, we played well, but our opponents played better.”  

"At the start of the second half, we didn't change our formation. Initially, we hoped to increase our attacking threat at certain moments through high pressing. I think we successfully disrupted their rhythm and gradually got into the game. As the game became more open, we brought on Tolu at the right time and switched to a diamond formation to further strengthen our attack. The team continued to apply pressure and created some chances, including hitting the crossbar and winning set pieces. We also had several close calls in the attacking third, but unfortunately we couldn't convert them into goals."  

"If we had attacked this team aggressively from the start, it would have been almost asking for trouble. The most frustrating thing was that they scored from the wrong place with a cross. We had a three-on-one situation in the center of the box, and we had to deal with that situation better. The timing of the second goal was very difficult for us. Nevertheless, we kept their goal low, just like we have against other teams in the past, while continuing to work hard to catch up."  

“In the first half, we got the ball to Jackson Chadova several times, but failed to capitalize on the chances. I think Rodrigo Gomez could bring something different to the team, especially when the tempo changes. He can make us play more aggressively and launch attacks from the right flank. In addition, Jorgen Strand Larsen’s performance was also satisfactory.”  

“We wanted to have more possession. In the early stages of the game, we failed to break through their defense completely and didn’t find any real offside opportunities. Their pressing was excellent and solid, effectively limiting our attack. But this was exactly what we planned. If we just passed the ball back or made a long pass to attack their defense, they would quickly regain possession and reorganize their attack. That’s why we made tactical adjustments and that’s what we’re working towards.”
