Roberto Sanchez had mixed emotions after Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace, saying the team's clean sheet despite the absence of several key players was a testament to Chelsea's defensive strength.  

Levi Colwell recently suffered a knee injury on his return to pre-season two weeks ago, while Tosin Adarabioyo was sidelined for Chelsea's first Premier League match due to a recent collision. Despite this, the rapport between Trevoh Chalobah and youngster Josh Acheampong provided Enzo Maresca with a central defensive duo that stabilized the defense and successfully resisted Crystal Palace's attacks.  

Robert Sanchez said : " We have had a few weeks of very intensive pre-season training, but unfortunately, several key players in the team have been injured. However, I think the new players have shown their quality. Everyone is ready and capable, and we managed to keep a clean sheet."  

The absence of Levi Colwell and Tosin Adarabioyo was thought to have affected Chelsea's defensive organization, but Robert Sanchez remained confident in the team's performance. Although Crystal Palace caused the team a lot of trouble in the following period, Sanchez believed that the defense as a whole was still good.  

He said : " We had high-quality possession of the ball and Crystal Palace defended very tightly in the midfield. Therefore, in my opinion, it was not difficult to break through from the outside, but it was more challenging to find Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in the midfield, so we had to move the ball to the flanks more. Despite this, I think the players completed their tasks and created opportunities. Even if the score was different, we still had the possibility of scoring one or two goals."  

"I'm both satisfied and a little disappointed with the result. I'm happy that the team created a lot of opportunities and played well. But obviously this is not the result we expected. We hoped to start the new season with a victory and continue the good performance of the past few months. Although we didn't get what we wanted, we will focus on it and keep working hard to move forward."  

“We missed some chances and I think we could have been more dominant in midfield, which is something we need to pay attention to. However, the players created a lot of chances and we believe we should have scored more goals. At the end of the day, this is football, we kept a clean sheet, got a point and now we have to focus on the next game.”
