Newcastle United has officially announced the appointment of Ross Wilson as the club's Sporting Director. In this role, Wilson will oversee the sporting strategy, development and recruitment for the men's and women's teams, as well as the Academy, working closely with the club's football management and executive teams.  

Prior to joining Newcastle United, Ross Wilson served as Chief Football Officer at Nottingham Forest. Newcastle United had previously held discussions with Nottingham Forest regarding the termination of his contract, ultimately reaching an agreement. The terms of the termination will remain confidential.  

Before joining Nottingham Forest in 2023, Ross Wilson served as the sporting director of Glasgow Rangers. During his tenure, he helped the team win its first league title and Scottish Cup in ten years and successfully reached the Europa League final.
