Arsenal will host Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium in the next round of Premier League matches. Manager Mikel Arteta has stated that Saka's hip injury has improved and remains optimistic about Ødegaard's recovery.
In the last round, Arsenal secured a 4-0 away victory against Leeds United after goals from Martin Zuwmendy, Maduk, Dzekelresh, and Jesus. With two wins, two draws, and one loss in their last five matches, Arsenal currently sit atop the league table with 53 points, six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.
When discussing the team's squad situation, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said, "Saka's hip recovery is progressing much better, and hopefully he will be back soon. Odegaard's condition is also improving, and I believe we only need to wait a few more days."
In addition, Arsenal midfielder Merino, 29, is sidelined for an extended period due to a serious foot injury. Arteta commented, "This is a heavy blow. Merino brings something unique to the team, but unfortunately, he has suffered a very rare injury and will be out for several months."
“We need to support him and make sure he stays in close contact with the team, because even when he can’t play, he can still provide a lot of help to the players and coaching staff, and it’s important to keep him involved.”
In addition, Arsenal defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the second leg of the English League Cup semi-final, thanks to a last-minute assist from Rice for Havertz's goal, thus advancing to the final.
Arteta said, "We are really happy that Havertz is back. He brings a very different character to the team and gives us more variety. After such a long injury, it is really impressive that he can immediately deliver this kind of performance. It's fantastic."
