According to a confirmation from HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto on Thursday, the Sacramento Kings have signed a second 10-day contract with Killian Hayes. The contract, worth approximately $153,000, will cover the Kings' next five regular-season games.
The 24-year-old Hayes is a 6'6" (1.93m) and 88kg (4.5kg) point guard who joined the Sacramento Kings in February on a 10-day contract. He has only played three regular-season games for the Kings so far, averaging 2.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 13.0 minutes per game, with a 14.8% field goal percentage and an 18.8% three-point percentage.
In contrast, Hayes performed better in the G League. Before joining the Kings this season, he had played 28 games for the Cavaliers' affiliate, the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging 23.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
However, Hayes is no stranger to the NBA. As the 7th overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA draft, he played 210 regular season games for the Pistons, averaging 8.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 26.1 minutes per game.
After 2024, Hayes gradually shifted his focus to the G League. He only briefly returned to the NBA last February, playing six games for the Brooklyn Nets in just ten days.
