Serbian rising star Simic joins Jeddah United on loan, contract includes buyout clause

Saudi Arabian defending champions Jeddah United announced on Wednesday that they have loaned Jan- Carlo Simic from Anderlecht until the end of the 2025/26 season. During the loan period, he will play alongside stars such as Fabinho, Kante, Moussa Diaby and Karim Benzema.
The deal is reportedly worth €6 million for the loan, with a mandatory buyout clause of €15 million. Simic will sign a contract with Jeddah United next summer, until June 30, 2030.
Born in Nürtingen, Germany, to Serbian parents, 20-year-old Simic attended youth training at Stuttgart Kickers, Stuttgart and AC Milan, and made his Serie A debut for the Rossoneri on December 17, 2023.
In July 2024, Simic transferred to Anderlecht for €2.75 million. He mainly plays as a central defender for Anderlecht and has made 53 appearances so far, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
As for the national team, Simić chose to play for his parents' home country, Serbia. So far, he has played for Serbia 5 times.
