ESPN's renowned NBA reporter, Shams Charania, reported Thursday that the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a new, four-year, $45 million contract extension with shooting guard A.J. Green.

According to Shams' report, general manager Jon Horst had been eager to finalize Green's contract since early July, and since then, Green, who originally joined the team on a two-way contract, has fully met the requirements for a contract extension.

Horst has publicly expressed his admiration for Green's talent on numerous occasions, and this contract extension represents a significant step forward for the Bucks in securing Green as a key asset for the team's future.

The Athletic added that Green and his agent had been eager to finalize the contract extension. Negotiations between all three parties proceeded smoothly, allowing the Bucks to secure a relatively affordable contract that would tie Green to the team through the 2029/30 season.

For Green, the transition from being a completely undrafted free agent in the 2022 draft to now receiving a new, four-year, $45 million contract from the Bucks represents a significant turning point in his life.
