Shams: Conley plans to return to the Timberwolves; signing timeline still under negotiation.

According to ESPN's Shams Charania on Friday, 38-year-old Mike Conley plans to return to the Minnesota Timberwolves as a free agent.
This week, Conley was first traded to the Chicago Bulls along with Jaden Ive of the Detroit Pistons in a three-team deal, and then traded to the Charlotte Hornets along with Coby White. Given that Conley's $10.7 million contract was expiring, the Hornets ultimately opted for a buyout agreement with him.
Having already been traded twice before being waived, Conley is now eligible to return to the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves are also open to Conley's return, and the two sides are negotiating the specific timeline for a new contract.
Mike Conley was the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2007 NBA draft. During his career, he played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, and Minnesota Timberwolves. As a 6'3" (1.85m) and 79kg (37kg) point guard, he has appeared in 1216 regular season games to date, averaging 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.3 steals in 30.8 minutes per game, with a 43.7% field goal percentage and a 38.7% three-point percentage.
Before being traded this season, Conley played 44 regular season games for the Timberwolves, averaging career lows of 4.4 points and 2.9 assists per game. Despite the decline in his individual statistics, he was still able to contribute to the Timberwolves' rotation.
