Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr talked about Stephen Curry in a podcast and praised the star for always going forward and attacking without hesitation during the game and not letting any trivial matters affect him.
In the 2024/25 NBA regular season, the 37-year-old Stephen Curry played 70 games for the Golden State Warriors, averaging 24.5 points per game, 44.8% shooting percentage and 39.7% 3-point shooting percentage, and his overall performance was excellent.
When discussing the difference in mentality between his playing days and Stephen Curry's, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr shared, "I was always training very hard back then, pushing myself to exhaustion. Every game and every offense felt like a matter of life and death. Throughout the 82 games, if I didn't handle one game well, I would lose sleep all night."
"It seems that this has always been my personality. I started to realize at a certain stage in my career that I had to learn to let go, but it took me a long time to do it. It was really difficult. This is also one of the reasons why I admire Stephen Curry so much. He never bothers with these problems. He always shoots without hesitation."
Steve Kerr also said, "He would take the shot without hesitation every time and never think about the possible consequences, while I spent too much time doing this."
In addition, when talking about the difference between Stephen Curry and NBA legend Michael Jordan, Steve Kerr said, "Michael Jordan's mentality is more like a desire to kill his opponent, like stabbing a knife and twisting it. But Stephen Curry is more about enjoying the fun of the shooting process. That's why watching him play is so wonderful."
"He's like an artist who loves what he does. There's a fluidity, grace and beauty to his game, mixed with a competitive drive and confidence that allows him to take every shot without fear of the consequences."
