On October 18th , the NBA preseason concluded with the Portland Trail Blazers losing to the Utah Jazz 129-132. They suffered a last-minute comeback and failed to end their preseason campaign with a victory.
The Jazz took an early lead in the first quarter, with consecutive three-pointers from Hansen Young and Jrue Holiday helping the Trail Blazers claw back. Trailing 32-34, the first quarter ended with Grant leading the Blazers on a 9-0 run in the second quarter, taking the lead 64-60 at halftime .
In the third quarter, Mykhailiuk opened fire to help the Jazz overtake. The two sides fought fiercely, and the Trail Blazers trailed 99-103 at the end of the third quarter.
Holiday's three- pointer in the final quarter put the Blazers back in the lead, but Yang Hansen fouled out with six fouls at 7:41 , a turning point. Mykhailiuk's clutch three-pointer in the final moments put the Blazers ahead, but the Blazers' final drive was unsuccessful, ultimately leading to a 129-132 loss to the Jazz, their final preseason game.
