Lyon striker Rayan Cherki announced on Saturday that he will leave the club this summer. As for his future destination, it is still unknown.

"I think today is my last game for Lyon," Cherki said after the match against Angers. "But I remain a little cautious. I know the difficulties I had last summer. We will see where the wind will take me. I am proud of what I have done at Lyon."

He added: "I am ready for the next chapter in my career. Thank you to Lyon, the coach, the staff, the president, my teammates and everyone at the club."

The 21-year-old Cherki is a native of Lyon and mainly plays as a right winger and attacking midfielder. He came from Lyon's youth training and made his debut for the first team in Ligue 1 on October 19, 2019.

To date, Cherki has made 185 appearances for Lyon, scoring 29 goals and providing 45 assists. He also played for the team at the 2024 Paris Olympics and won a silver medal.

Cherki was close to joining Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but changed his mind before signing. He then renewed his contract with Lyon until 2026 and reached a gentleman's agreement with the club, allowing him to leave the team this summer with a release clause of 22.5 million euros. According to multiple media reports, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich have all expressed strong interest in Cherki.
