Inter Miami announced on their official website on Tuesday that Tottenham Hotspur's Spain international defender Sergio Reguilón has officially joined the club as a free agent after his contract had expired.
According to Inter Miami's official statement, Reguilón has signed on a short-term two-year deal with the club which will only run until the winter of 2027, with an option to extend for a further year.
He will also wear the number 3 jersey previously worn by his former national teammate Jordi Alba after his retirement.
After completing his transfer procedures, Reguilón, who was interviewed by the Inter Miami official website for the first time, said: "This is an ambitious project. Inter Miami is a club that is achieving success in the right way, which is what attracted me. I came here to continue winning and to continue competing. My goal is to continue winning, to reclaim the trophies we haven't yet won, and to win everything here."
It's worth mentioning that Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, had already confirmed Reguilón's move to Inter Miami in early October. However, due to visa issues, concerns about impacting the team's season, and respect for the retiring Alba, the Major League Soccer (MLS) club waited until now to officially announce the transfer.
