Despite Unai Emery's disappointment with Aston Villa's defeat to Liverpool, he still commended the team's fighting spirit at Anfield. Aston Villa hit the woodwork twice early in the match and ultimately lost 0-2 to Liverpool, leaving Merseyside empty-handed.  

Although Unai Emery's team's four-game winning streak in the Premier League was snapped, his overall performance in this match still gave him confidence for the future. Emery said, "I'm satisfied with the team's performance and the first 30 minutes. We showed momentum, controlled the tempo, and created many scoring opportunities."  

“We did well at the beginning, breaking through their high press and playing quite easily. But in the last 15 minutes of the first half, our formation was stretched too wide, they played more aggressively, and we were a bit slow in defense.”
