On September 27th , according to HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto, the Jazz have reached a contract agreement with center player Mo Bamba. The sixth overall pick in the 2018 draft will have a new opportunity.

This isn't the first time Bamba has been linked with the Jazz. In February of this year, he was traded to the Jazz by the Clippers before the trade deadline, but was waived shortly thereafter. His return suggests the team is looking to add more depth to their inside game.

Last season, Bamba played for the Clippers and Pelicans, playing a total of 32 games, averaging 4.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 46.4%. Although his statistics are not impressive, his height and rim protection ability can still provide defensive and rebounding support in limited time.

The specifics of the contract have not been disclosed. Given the size of the Jazz's roster, Bamba's agreement could be an Exhibit 9 or Exhibit 10 training camp contract, or a guaranteed one-year contract. If the latter is the case, the Jazz would exceed the 15-man roster cap, forcing them to waive one player before the regular season begins.

For the Jazz, this signing is a low-risk reinforcement. If Bamba can show stability in training camp and preseason, he is expected to stay with the team and become part of the inside rotation.
