Villarreal announced on its official website on Sunday that the club has renewed the contract of Argentina international defender Juan Foyth.
According to Villarreal's official statement, Foyth has signed on a long-term four-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.
About Juan Foyth
Foyth, 27, was born on January 12, 1998, in La Plata, Argentina. He is 1.88 meters tall and primarily plays right-back, but can also play center-back. He holds dual Argentinian and Spanish citizenship.
Foyth joined Estudiantes de La Plata's youth academy at a young age and completed his Estudiantes de La Plata first-team debut in March 2017.
In August of the same year, Foyth joined Tottenham Hotspur for £8 million.
During his three-year spell at Spurs, Foyth reached the UEFA Champions League final once with the club.
In October 2020, Foyth joined Villarreal on-loan with an option to buy. His rights were later purchased permanently for €15 million.
Since joining El Submarino Amarillo, Foyth has made 135 appearances for the La Liga powerhouse in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing six assists. During which he has won the UEFA Europa League once with the club.
