Wolfsburg officially announced on Wednesday that it has completed the contract extension with backup goalkeeper Pavao Perwan. His contract will be extended for another year and will be valid until June 30, 2026.

The 37-year-old Pavao Pervan was born in Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his early career, he played for Austrian clubs such as Schwechat, Lustenau 07, Pasing and LASK Linz. Since joining Wolfsburg for 500,000 euros in 2018, Pervan has played in 5 Europa League games, 34 Bundesliga games and 4 German Cup games, and has kept 9 clean sheets.

Despite being a backup goalkeeper for a long time, Perwan is still the third longest-serving player in Wolfsburg, second only to captain Maximilian Arnold and Yannick Gerhardt. Regarding his contract extension, Wolfsburg sports director Sebastian Schentzilotz commented: "The qualities that Pavao has shown - loyalty, dedication and team spirit - make him an indispensable member of our team. With his experience and personality, he is always a role model we can trust."

Perwan said: "Wolfsburg has long been a second home for me and my family, so I am very happy to stay with the team next season. I am very proud to be able to continue to contribute to the team at the highest level."
